Mr & Mrs M - Garage Extension

At Abbeyfield Builders Ltd. we strive to achieve a high level of service for all our extension services in Saltash and the surrounding areas. This project was to construct a second floor extension above the clients existing garage.

Planning & Building Services

Professional detailed diagrams where submitted to the local council from the architectural consultants we use (www.studiojb.co.uk). The Building Control Officer made key visits to site to inspect key elements of the construction process, and provided the relevant certificates on completion.

Construction

This extension was constructed with the front portion (above the garage area) using an insulated concrete cavity wall, and the rear portion (above childs play room) using a timber frame inner leaf and concrete block outer leaf. The roof trusses where pre-manufactured and covered with a breathable membrane and concrete tiles to match those on the existing roof. The exterior walls where spar-dashed and the facia boards, soffits and guttering where installed.

Interior Works

Once the major construction work had been completed, a new bespoke staircase was manufactured and installed by ourselves. All electrical works where installed and tested. A new bathroom suite was fitted, and all rooms where decorated to a painted finish, this included all walls, ceilings and woodwork.

At Abbeyfield Builders Ltd. we like to undertake all extension work from start to completion with minimum disturbance to the everyday living of our clients. We undertake all aspects of extension work in-house, so we are not reliant on "third party" contractors.
